I feel so blessed for the rights and freedoms we enjoy in this great country. There is something so special about the feeling of patriotism we celebrate on that day. The Fourth of July is truly one of my very favorite hoildays.

God bless all of those who continue to sacrifice so that we may continue to enjoy that same freedom. To all of them I say “Thank You!”: With all of our fun Fourth of July Celebrations this weekend, we need to remember the great cost at which our freedom came. I can see that the end is more than worth all the means.”

Yet, through all the gloom, I can see rays of ravishing light and glory.

I am well aware of the toil and blood and treasure that it will cost us to maintain this Declaration and support and defend these States. “You will think me transported with enthusiasm, but I am not. In 1776, after the Second Continental Congress adopted the Lee Resolution that “these United Colonies are, and of right ought to be, free and independent,” John Adams wrote the following to his wife:
